This project is an animation designed and produced to promote Dutch cultural and creative products. It was created using After Effects, with all visual assets hand-drawn by me. The project represents a cross-cultural exchange between the two sides, combining traditional Chinese paper-cutting aesthetics with iconic Dutch elements such as windmills, tulips, and bicycles in the product design.
My task was to integrate our school mascot, Bode Bird, into the animation and create an engaging and playful visual experience, providing a strong foundation for the future development of additional cultural and creative products.
In this project, I reimagined Bode Bird as a traveler exploring the Netherlands, presented in the form of a travel picture-book souvenir. The animation showcases iconic Dutch elements such as windmills, bicycles, and tulips, while simulating the atmosphere of a full day to create a sense of immersion. The story concludes with Bode Bird’s journey back to China, with ghostly Dutch pirates added as a playful and whimsical element.
